William J. Lyons III

Bill and his wife Cindy reside in Orange County, NY and have three children. His oldest daughter lives in Denver where she is a teacher in the National Teach for America Plan, another daughter is graduating this May from SUNY New Paltz and his son is completing his freshman year at SUNY Albany.

During Bill's tenure as president of the Concrete Industry Board, he demonstrated his commitment to continuing education by working actively with the New York City Department of Buildings and the New York City Concrete Producers in establishing the Concrete Producer Certification Program, and he was instrumental in helping CIB become an official chapter of the American Concrete Institute.

He is a Fellow in the American Concrete Institute and an active member of two technical committees: ACI 232 Fly Ash in Concrete and ACI 306 Cold Weather Concrete. Bill also is active on two ACI staff committees: the Marketing Committee and the Convention Committee. He previously served as a member of ACI 305 Hot Weather Concrete and the Chapter Activities committees.

In addition, he is a past president of the New Jersey Chapter of ACI active on its annual as well as a former vice president and board member of the Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware Chapter of ACI. In 2005, he served as co-chair of the ACI Spring 2005 Convention in New York City, which he says was "a rewarding experience."

When not devoting his sparse free time to the CIB, Bill manages engineered sales for USC Atlantic-a US Concrete Region-serving the metropolitan New Jersey, New York and Washington, DC, markets. Prior to that, Bill was, for five years, the director of engineering sales for Separation Technologies, LLC, a Titan America Company. Earlier in his career he spent 15 years in positions as engineering and technical representative for Grace Construction Products.

His commitment to excellence within the concrete industry has always been his hallmark, whether in the workplace or as evidenced through his continued participation in the organizations in which he has been, and continues to be, so deeply involved.
